June 7, 2023: On Monday, Gov. Jared Polis signed the Fostering Success Housing Voucher Program (Senate Bill 23-082) into law. This bill creates a new state-funded rental assistance program to prevent former foster youth from experiencing homelessness.

April 11, 2023: May 1 is the last day to apply for Colorado’s Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), a program that helps to save eligible Colorado households money by paying a portion of winter home heating costs.

April 3, 2023: Community partners, child advocates and representatives from the Colorado Department of Human Services, Illuminate Colorado, and the Colorado Department of Early Childhood launched Child Abuse Prevention Month at a State Capitol event today.

Sixteen court-qualified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and real-time captioners were sworn in during a special ceremony at the Colorado Supreme Court on Feb. 24. Justice Monica M. Márquez presided over the ceremony.

The Colorado Department of Human Services is recruiting nurses nationwide, and is offering a $14,000 sign-on bonus and other benefits for nurses to work in the state’s two psychiatric hospitals in Denver and Pueblo.
