DENVER (Feb. 1, 2024) — After an extensive search, the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is pleased to announce the official appointment of Minna Castillo as the deputy executive director of Community Partnerships, effective immediately. This appointment follows Castillo's successful interim leadership in the role over the past several months.
Castillo brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished record of service in the health and human services arena to her new position. Prior to her interim role as deputy executive director, Castillo served as the director of CDHS’s Office of Children, Youth and Families for six years, where she demonstrated exemplary leadership and a deep commitment to improving the lives of Colorado children and families.
Throughout her career, Castillo has consistently displayed an unwavering dedication to creating positive change and fostering collaboration within the community. Her expertise in health and human services has made her a respected leader, and her tireless efforts have profoundly impacted individuals and families throughout Colorado.
As deputy executive director of Community Partnerships, Castillo will play a pivotal role in strengthening partnerships with other state agencies, counties, tribes, government agencies and stakeholders to further the agency's mission of empowering Coloradans to thrive. Her leadership will be instrumental in enhancing the agency's outreach and ensuring that those in need have access to the vital resources and support they require.

Castillo's appointment is a testament to CDHS’s dedication to appointing leaders of the highest caliber to guide the agency's vital work in serving the community. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education.
