Behavioral health services

Behavioral health includes mental health and substance use. Our services include two state mental hospitals, as well as forensic services.

CDHS serves children and families through various programs. Services include adoption and foster care, child support, child welfare, domestic violence, and sexual health.

CDHS's disability services include three Regional Centers, which care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; services for deaf and deaf-blind people; and brain injury services.

CDHS's older adult services include five Veterans Community Living Centers, as well as Adult Protective Services, Nutrition Services, the State Unit on Aging, and caregiver support.

Refugee services

The Colorado Refugee Services Program, part of CDHS's employment division, facilitates resettlement of refugees and promotes advancement past self-sufficiency and to long-term integration.

Youth services

CDHS's Division of Youth services provides for the care and supervision of youth involved in the justice system. DYS operates 15 secure youth centers that serve youth between the ages of 10-21.
