The Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center (MWFYSC) mission is to protect, restore and improve public safety. This is accomplished through a continuum of services and programs that: effectively supervise juvenile offenders, promote offender accountability to victims and communities and build skills and competencies of youth to become responsible citizens.
Marvin W. Foote Youth Services Center is located in Englewood, Colorado and is a 62 bed secure youth center serving detained youth. MWFYSC serves youth from the 18th Judicial District encompassing Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties.
MWFYSC provides secure detention holding for youth from ages 10 through age 17. MWFYSC uses an adaptive pro-social behavioral management philosophy which applies evidence based principles from social learning and cognitive behavioral theory (CBT). Services provided include individualized education, restorative community justice and life skills education.
Cherry Creek School District 5 provides licensed teaching staff for detained youth in the youth center. While at MWFYSC detained youth can earn credits necessary to receive a high-school diploma or obtain a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
