The Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health congratulates Larimer County’s competency court docket for being recognized with the 2022 Fort Collins Human Relations Award.

With the holidays here and the cost of basic necessities continuing to rise, the Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) is helping eligible Colorado households save money by paying a portion of home heating bills and offering tips to save on heating costs.

The Colorado Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health hosted a grand opening event today for a new wing at the Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Fort Logan. This new wing will serve Coloradans in need of competency restoration services to proceed in criminal trials.

In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience sexual violence, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime and report negative impacts such as injury, fear, concern for safety, and needing services.

Colorado’s federal partners have approved a five-year prevention services plan, which will support families, prevent circumstances that lead to child maltreatment, and give steps to intervene when maltreatment has been identified to ensure that children and youth remain safely in their homes or with kinship caregivers whenever possible.

The Colorado Department of Human Services has announced new incentives for employment for current and prospective staff. CDHS is focused on recruiting and retaining top talent, especially at direct-care facilities, such as the state’s mental health hospitals and veterans nursing homes.
