Colorado Department of Human Services invests $7.5 million to address homelessness and mental health

Oct. 30, 2023: The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health (OCFMH) has invested over $7.5 million since 2021 to treat and house individuals at the intersection of mental health and homelessness.

Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) begins accepting applications Nov. 1

Colorado’s Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), a federally funded program that helps eligible Coloradans pay a portion of their winter home heating costs, opens for the season on Nov. 1 and will accept applications through April 30, 2024.

Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo re-opening 39 mental health beds

DENVER (July 20, 2023) — The Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP) announced that 39 additional mental health beds will open this month, following bed closures due to the effects of the pandemic in early 2020. These beds will allow the hospital to serve approximately 117 more Coloradans per year.
