Emergency additional SNAP benefits are ending in February

All Coloradans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will see a reduction in their monthly benefit amount after February. This is due to the end of emergency allotments that began at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CDHS opens new mental hospital wing to serve competency patients

The Colorado Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health hosted a grand opening event today for a new wing at the Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Fort Logan. This new wing will serve Coloradans in need of competency restoration services to proceed in criminal trials. 

CDHS recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month

CDHS recognizes October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience sexual violence, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime and report negative impacts such as injury, fear, concern for safety, and needing services.
