DENVER (Sept. 28, 2020) — The Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) awarded nearly $4.3 million in grants to fund 26 prevention programs that serve Colorado youth and families, some of which are receiving OBH funds for the first time.
OBH funds prevention programs that aim to lower rates of substance misuse by promoting the wellbeing of children and families.
DENVER (Sept. 29, 2020) — The Colorado Department of Human Services Food and Energy Assistance Division (FEAD) has teamed up with local company Mobilize Comms to develop a platform that allows food distribution services, such as food banks and food pantries, to better deliver goods to families in need while maintaining proper social distancing.
DENVER (Oct. 7, 2020) — Today, the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and Colorado State University-Pueblo announced that youth involved in the Division of Youth Services (DYS) will be able to enroll in college courses while they are in DYS care. This partnership will allow youth to pursue higher education beyond vocational programming and into college coursework after attaining their high school diploma or GED.
DENVER (Sept. 10, 2020) - The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) are providing parents and caregivers with guidance regarding joining a learning pod this school year. Learning pods are being formed by families of school-age children in homes of parents and other adults to facilitate supervision of the children who are learning remotely during the school day.
DENVER (Sept. 9, 2020) — The Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) was recently awarded a nearly $1 million federal grant to develop programs to educate teens and young adults about parenthood. This grant will help ensure that young people have access to important information that will increase their knowledge of education and employment resources, healthy relationships, and the importance of family planning methods that are effective as well as accessible.

Offering CDA credential scholarships will help to improve the quality of the early care and education workforce by attracting and retaining highly qualified professionals.
DENVER (Aug. 18, 2020) - More than 17,000 Colorado households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits may have received a notice that they received zero benefits for the Month of August in error.
