Nearly $900,000 awarded to support survivors of domestic violence during COVID-19

DENVER (July 14, 2020) - The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) has awarded $885,776 to 38 community-based domestic violence programs, which have continued to provide essential services to domestic violence survivors during the coronavirus pandemic. This funding - $568,399 from the federal CARES Act and $317,377 appropriated in the state budget by the Colorado general assembly - will provide for needs specific to the pandemic and supplement the ongoing support CDHS provides annually through its Domestic Violence Program.

Behavioral Health Task Force examines COVID-19 impacts

Gov. Jared Polis has established a new committee within the state’s Behavioral Health Task Force (BHTF) that is examining the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the state’s behavioral health system. The BHTF is administered by the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and was created by the governor.

DENVER (May 28, 2020) - The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is pleased to announce the launch of an online purchasing program for families participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and support programs such as Colorado Works and Old Age Pension.

This option will be available for SNAP, also known as Food Assistance, as well as Colorado Works and Old Age Pension participants on Friday, May 29, to make online food delivery purchases on their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
