Nov. 15, 2022 — The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is currently seeking to fill a vacancy on the State Board of Human Services. The board has an opening for a member who is a county commissioner, and the vacancy will be available for appointment in early 2023.

The State Board of Human Services is a nine-member, volunteer, governor-appointed body responsible for reviewing and making decisions on the rules that govern human services programs. Members of this board help ensure program rules align with the mission and vision of CDHS, including equity, diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities include participation in monthly hearings, reviewing and voting on CDHS rules, and, most importantly, providing opportunities to make influential decisions that shape the programs and services administered by CDHS.

Board members also receive professional development through networking and have the ability to work with CDHS staff, interact with members of the public, and learn more about the numerous programs that the department administers.

CDHS strongly encourages diversity in its applicants and urges volunteers from all parts of the state with varied backgrounds and life experiences to apply. If you are interested, please apply by Oct. 26.

If you have any questions about the application process, or need assistance completing the application, please contact State Board Administrator Kyle Zinth at 720.602.6807 or kyle.zinth@state.co.us.
