The Division of Youth Services (DYS) is seeking candidates for DYS Community Boards in all four regions of the state. Candidates must be a resident or work within the community region in which they serve. The candidate should have experience and perspectives related to incarcerated youths. Appointments to the Board are made by Governor Jared Polis and are for a three-year term.

Board members meet quarterly for 2-3 hours per meeting. Meetings are being held virtually, but post-COVID restrictions they will meet at youth centers located throughout their respective regions. The Community Boards help promote transparency and community involvement in DYS, provide opportunities for youth to build positive relationships with adult role models, and promote youth involvement in the community. DYS is committed to diversity and inclusion of the voices of communities of color reflective of our youth population and encourages all interested to apply for consideration. Board members serve without compensation and may not be employed by the Department of Human Services or the Division of Youth Services.

For details on how to apply, please contact Diane Skufca (diane.skufca@state.co.us or 720.237.5585). Candidates are also welcome to apply directly online on the governor's website no later than Sept. 15.
