DENVER, CO (Jan. 8, 2026) – The State of Colorado announces the launch of the Multi-Sector Plan on Aging Data Dashboard, a new, publicly accessible online resource designed to empower communities, service providers and policymakers with vital information on the state's aging population.
As the third fastest-aging state in the nation, Colorado is experiencing a significant and rapid demographic shift. This new, centralized repository provides real-time metrics and insights into Colorado’s population age 60 and older. Provided in a user-friendly format, the platform transforms complex data into accessible metrics and clear trends, designed explicitly to guide and empower evidence-based decision-making across all levels, from local governmental planning to non-profit service. The data is organized into eight crucial domains, providing comprehensive coverage of the challenges and opportunities facing older Coloradans:
- Demographics: Detailed population statistics and growth trends.
- Housing: Data related to affordability, stability, and accessible living options.
- Economic Security: Metrics on income, poverty levels, and employment.
- Lifelong Learning: Information on educational attainment and participation in skill-building programs.
- Home and Community Based Services (HCBS): Data tracking access to in-home support and community resources.
- Communication and Information: Metrics on digital literacy and connectivity.
- Healthcare Access: Information regarding insurance coverage, proximity to care, and quality of services.
- Health and Wellbeing: Data on physical and mental health outcomes.
"Understanding the complexities and diverse needs of older Coloradans is the foundation of effective policy and service delivery," said Kristine Burrows, senior specialist on aging for the state of Colorado. "This dashboard transforms raw data into actionable insights, making it an invaluable tool for every county, every non-profit, and every resident committed to building truly age-friendly communities across the state. It will allow us to highlight disparities and identify exactly where targeted investments are needed most."
The dashboard is a key deliverable of the state’s broader Multi-Sector Plan on Aging initiative, which is dedicated to ensuring that all older adults can live well and thrive in their chosen communities. The State encourages community organizations, researchers, local planners, and residents to explore the dashboard and use its resources to advocate for and support the fastest-growing demographic in Colorado.
