The Office of Behavioral Health is assisting community partners in promoting events for International Overdose Awareness Day, a global event held annually on Aug. 31. The day aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and we invite you to get involved.

Share Lift the Label Materials

Lift The Label is OBH's public awareness campaign that strives to remove damaging labels and stigmas that prevent those with opioid addiction from seeking effective treatment. To help your organization recognize Overdose Awareness Day, OBH has created two Lift The Label toolkits: One with messaging for a general audience and one with messaging for friends and family. The toolkit, which includes content for social media posts, is designed to help communities, county partners and organizations statewide spread the word about Lift The Label. Lift The Label print materials can be ordered online and shipped for free to anyone planning an event on this topic.

Send Recovery Cards to Loved Ones

You can also raise awareness and reduce stigma by sending a free card to someone you care about in recovery, those working to achieve it, or the people who support and encourage them every day. Get yours today at RecoveryCardsProject.com

Community Events

Due to COVID-19, this year looks a little different when it comes to events for International Overdose Awareness Day, but our community partners are thinking outside the box to make things happen!
