Seeking Dedicated Representatives for Governor-Appointed Vacancies


The Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Advisory Council (Advisory Council) is looking for passionate individuals to advise the Colorado Department of Human Services and the Communication Services for People with Disabilities Enterprise. This is your opportunity to advocate for the needs and challenges of your community at the state level!  
 


Current Vacancies 


We are actively seeking applicants for four-year terms representing the following categories, with anticipated appointment dates at or around July 1, 2026:  

  • Deaf member
  • Hard of Hearing member
  • DeafBlind member
  • Auxiliary Service Providers member 


Deadline to apply: March 10, 2026. 



Your Impact as a Commissioner


As a member of the Advisory Council, you will play a vital role in shaping policy and accessibility in Colorado. Key duties include:

  • Advise: Guide the Department of Human Services and the Communication Services for People with Disabilities Enterprise.
  • Advocate: Represent your specific constituency to the public and businesses.
  • Collaborate: Serve on specialized committees and attend four meetings per year (one in person, three virtual).
  • Connect: Engage with the community to stay informed on current challenges.

Note: Travel costs for in-person meetings are fully covered for council members.
