July 2, 2024 — Colorado's State Board of Human Services, which is responsible for reviewing and making decisions on the rules that govern human services programs, is currently seeking applications for five positions. The deadline for applying for these governor-appointed positions is Aug. 31.

Board members' responsibilities include participating in monthly hearings, reviewing and voting on CDHS rules and, most importantly, providing opportunities to make influential decisions that shape the programs and services administered by CDHS. Board members also get a chance for professional development through networking and will have the ability to work with CDHS staff, interact with members of the public, and learn more about the numerous programs that the department administers.

The board is currently seeking the following:

  • One member who is a person with a disability, the family member of someone with a disability, or a member of an advocacy group for persons with disabilities;
  • Three members who are a member of the public; and
  • One member who serves as an elected county commissioner.

CDHS strongly encourages diversity in its applicants and urges volunteers from all parts of the state with varied backgrounds and life experiences to apply. If you are interested in applying for one of the vacancies, please fill out the Boards and Commissions Application Form by Aug. 31.

If you have any questions about the application process, or need assistance completing the application, contact State Board Administrator Kyle Zinth at 720.602.6807 or kyle.zinth@state.co.us.
