DENVER (Jan. 12, 2022) —  The State of Colorado is coordinating a multi-agency effort to successfully welcome and integrate approximately 2,000 Afghans resettling in Colorado. Right now, we, in partnership with local resettlement agencies and other partners, are soliciting new furniture, household, and hygiene items to help our Afghan neighbors settle into their new homes. This support is instrumental in helping Afghan families feel welcomed and begin the work of rebuilding their lives here in Colorado. We ask for your support to collect these essential items through our Wishlist: Colorado Afghan Resettlement Wishlist

In addition, the Governor’s Fund, the Colorado Afghan Evacuee Fund is still accepting financial donations. Donate here

If you or your organization is interested in donating in an alternative method please feel free to contact the Colorado Refugee Services Program at crsp@state.co.us or 303.863.8211.

The State of Colorado is proud to partner with the International Rescue Committee, African Community Center, Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains, Mile High United Way, Jewish Family Service, Just Serve, Project Worthmore, Team Rubicon, Salvation Army, Volunteers of America, and AmeriCorps to welcome and support our new Afghan neighbors.
