The Child Welfare Prevention Task Group is committed to developing a prevention infrastructure that reduces the number of children/youth in out-of-home placement, families' further involvement, and reentry into the child welfare system. Members of the group provide leadership and guidance on processes, programs, practices, policies and strategies necessary to build Colorado's prevention continuum. Meetings typically include discussion about Family First Evidence-based Services, the Colorado Child Prevention Plan, community Child Maltreatment Prevention Plans, Child Welfare Program Area 3, the Core Services Program, and data collection/analysis. The task group reports to the Child Welfare Sub-PAC to provide updates and present recommendations.
