Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) is a collection of group homes that serves adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who need additional support to stabilize and return to community residential settings. Individuals learn skills that enable them to be more independent, live their lives as they choose and reach their unique goals while in a loving, supportive environment.

A community built on achieving goals

WRRC began operating as the Ridge Home for Children in 1912 and supported children, teenagers and adults throughout its 112 year history. Now, it provides short-term stabilization through supporting adults with IDD and co-occurring mental health disorders.

All of the group homes commit to breaking any association with institutional living by instead providing homelike settings. Two important priorities of the WRRC team are to create homes focused on individuals' favorite artwork, colors, movies and furnishings and making sure the group homes blend into the local neighborhoods.
