Pueblo Regional Center

In 1969, what was previously known as the Colorado State Regional Center — now the Pueblo Regional Center — was part of the larger Colorado State Hospital. The hospital served more than 500 individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. In the 1980s, progress was made to change the living arrangements, and the remaining 160 individuals were transferred to new residential homes throughout the Pueblo West community.

Today, Pueblo Regional Center can serve up to 88 individuals with developmental disabilities until they can be stabilized and transitioned to a less restrictive setting in the community of their choice.
