Job description: This position delivers health care to detained or committed high risk adolescents in a locked, secure setting.  This position provides primary care with responsibility for a continuum of care from the initial assessment through development and maintenance of health care including physical, psychiatric, and dental maintenance.

Minimum qualifications: Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). This license must be active and in good standing.

Behavioral Health Specialist III

Job description: This position utilizes the Colorado Juvenile Risk Assessment and other validated assessment tools to address criminogenic needs and what is driving underlying behavior by using a strength based approach and a youth's protective factors and resources. This position maintains a caseload and conducts individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions using evidence-based treatment theories and curriculum in complex mental health treatment for adolescents.

Minimum qualifications: Current and valid licensure from any state as a Professional Counseling (LPC) or current, valid licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). One year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor. Current and valid licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) will substitute for the Professional Counseling license (LPC) or the Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW). One year Experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Salary: $62,844 - $70,068 annually

Job description: The purpose of this position is to provide direct care security, supervision, and support of detained and/or committed youth in Division of Youth Services (DYS) State Operated Secure Residential Facilities. Duties include maintaining a safe environment through appropriate supervision and use of behavioral management skills and interventions in order to guide youth through daily living and leisure activities.

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or General Education Diploma, (GED).  Employees must be willing and able to physically intervene with assaultive youth.

Job description: The overall function of the work unit is to enforce established rules and procedures to control the movement in the unit and behavior of youth within the care of the facility. Supervision is documented based on the observation of behaviors and incidents that occur throughout the day. The daily programming, living, and leisure activities are organized and carried out by this position. Occasionally, the intervention of volatile situations is required. Duties also include behavior-based care and treatment.

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or General Education Diploma, (GED) as well as 2 years of full-time work experience within a correctional and/or behavioral health setting. OR college with course work in social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, human services, physical education/recreational studies or closely related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Job description: This position supports all facets of the educational system to include students, school personnel, and the stakeholder community.  This position exists to provide the broad knowledge of school systems, educational law, curriculum and instruction, classroom and behavior management, models for working with diverse populations including people with disabilities, and models for consultation and school-based intervention, behavior management, and transition practices. This position fosters a safe school environment and addresses mental health and social issues that interfere with students' ability to access education successfully.

Minimum qualifications: A relevant Bachelor's degree, a Colorado Professional Special Services Provider license, as well as 2 years of professional experience the specialty area of the work assignment.

Salary: $66,444.00 - $97,260.00 annually

About the Division of Youth Services:  The Division of Youth Services (DYS) provides a continuum of residential and non-residential services that encompass juvenile detention, commitment and parole. DYS is the agency statutorily mandated to provide for the care and supervision of youth committed by the District Court to the legal custody of the Colorado Department of Human Services. The Division operates 15 secure facilities that serve youth between the ages of 10 and 21, who are pre-adjudicated, sentenced, or committed. The Division also contracts with numerous private residential and non-residential service providers throughout the State.  For pre-adjudicated youth, the Division is also responsible for the management and oversight of Senate Bill 91-94; a State-funded, locally administered program that provides services to youth at risk of further progressing into the juvenile justice system. In addition to residential programming, the Division administers juvenile parole services throughout the State.
