Domestic Abuse Statutory Definition Task Force
The Domestic Abuse Statutory Definition Task Force was created within the state department in accordance with HB21-1099. The task force will work to determine a recommended definition of domestic abuse to be included in C.R.S. Title 19, the Children's Code. A report with the task force’s recommended definition will be provided to the Health and Human Services Committee of the Senate and the Public and Behavioral Health and Human Services Committee of the House of Representatives in December of 2022. The task force will review proposed language concerning best practices and training regarding domestic abuse for child welfare.
The task force is comprised of 21 voting members who are appointed by the director of the Office of Children, Youth and Families within CDHS.
