Human Trafficking Task Group

The Human Trafficking Task Group has historically been the designated group for engaging stakeholders and making recommendations regarding the child welfare response to human trafficking in Colorado. A request of the Child Welfare Sub-PAC was approved to reconvene on a time-limited basis to explore the following items:

  • The federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act was reauthorized for 2023 and the Human Trafficking Task Group would review this act, explore its implications, and make recommendations to existing rules to ensure Colorado's rules are in line. The rules to be reviewed are:
    • 7.000.2 Definitions
    • 7.303.4 Human Trafficking
  • Engage in CQI efforts related to the Colorado High-Risk Victim Identification Tool (the currently used human trafficking screen).
  • Explore and make recommendations related to improving the child welfare response to human trafficking.
Meetings

The task group meets on the third Wednesday of each month, from 10-11:20 a.m., beginning Sept. 20, 2023, and ending in February 2024.
